I had to conduct further research into galleries around the UK in order to find galleries that had collections online that I could study for the illustrations. Several of these changed - I looked at the Hepworth, the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, the V&A, the Serpentine, the Sainsbury Centre, The Barber Institute of Fine Arts, Leeds Art Gallery, Tate St Ives, Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool, The Baltic, The Whitworth, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, York Art Gallery, Saatchi and others.
For each place I was looking for pieces which would be simple to screenprint but also to represent the gallery well. Each design needed to be bold, striking and beautiful, so that people would want to have the calendar hanging in their home/workplace.
