Final Designs

Initially the final design was going to be printed on newsprint in order for it to have a old fashioned, aged effect, it also would have appeared more like the paper Victorian's would have used for adverts. However this created a wrinkled texture and didn't have the look of grandeur that the design needed to achieve.

Instead a deep burgundy was trialled with a gold base layer, which definitely appeared luxurious, but it meant the colours on top were dulled because of the dark background. A similar result was found on the blue/grey paper, the colours worked relatively well but it wasn't bright enough to stand out well amongst other designs within the exhibition.

Eventually a cream paper was taken forward with a brighter yellow underneath, although this looked less expensive, the colours were bright and were more likely to stand out. This colour also referenced the research I'd done previously into Victoria adverts, a lot of them used orange, warm tones like this.
