Studio Brief 2 - Blackwell Book Shop Aesthetic

For part of my research I looked at Blackwell which is a bookshop for students that also has a cafe. The bookshop had a lot of colour and tended towards blackboards, which I have noticed in other bookshops too. I hope to perhaps include chalkboards in the bookshop cafe I am going to create. The cafe appeared to be quite generic and 'tacky' in its colour choices, it didn't seem quite contemporary or cosy. This could be because this book shop is incredibly focused on education, specialising in getting students their textbooks for a good price. The cafe is similarly practical and humble, taking a more impersonal layout. I hope to brand the book cafe as something far more comfortable and homely.
