I began by drawing out a more precise version of the design, this way it would seem more precise and considered as a cover. With better focus on the detail of the hands and the shape of the head. This meant that I could keep the texture of the page throughout the spine and the blurb.
It was then edited to have a more 'handwritten' typeface on the cover, this was to go with the more organic, illustrative shape of the cover. For the blurb and spine I took a more old fashioned Serif typeface- to appear almost like what would be seen on an official war document.
