Typeface Rationale

1. To use high stroke contrast to make the letters appear emphasised by shadow. I also had the idea that the serifs could be drawn into street lights, so only certain parts of the letter are illuminated. Another possibility is that I could cut out the shapes of the counters and drag them alongside the letters, to create a delayed shadow.

2. For this typeface I would probably use Caslon, so the thin letters could be made spindly and long like figures in a clandestine meeting. For this I would accentuate the serifs, perhaps to look like hands or limbs. I also plan to stretch them vertically to give them a distorted, sinister feeling. This would be used for a mystery novels or horror film covers.
